Shirley J (Moubray) Rouse passed away after a brief illness on October 28, 2023.

Surviving her are three children, Cheryl, Cookie (David) and Billy; four grandchildren, Sara (Brett), Amy, Travis and Taylor (Genna); and two great grandchildren, Bri and Liam.

Mrs. Rouse was a widow who was born in Gordonsville on December 24, 1941 to George and Elizabeth Moubray. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School in Ashland in 1960. During her career she worked as a business professional for a variety of companies retiring at 62. She enjoyed country music, dancing, singing, driving her car and being with family and friends. She was a good friend to all who asked for help and support. She will be missed.

Services are scheduled at Preddy’s Funeral Home in Gordonsville on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. and service to follow at 12 p.m. A commitment service will be held graveside at Emmanuel Episcopal Church Cemetery in Rapidan, Va.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association.
