Shirley Ann Deane, 74 of Barboursville died Saturday November 26, 2022 at her residence. Born July 22, 1948 in Albemarle County, she was the daughter of the late Sam Sholes and Pearl Elizabeth Samuels. She was also preceded in death by her husband Elbert Edward Deane, a son, Elbert Edgar Deane, sister, Frances Snow, brothers-in-law, Jessie Lamb, Elmer Deane, Lester Collier, sister-in-law, Helen Durrer. Shirley attended Knights Chapel and she loved playing with her grandchildren, reading her bible and visits with her sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Lois Tench and husband Andy, Audrey Waldon and husband Douglas, her son, Joseph Deane and wife Jennifer, sisters, Betty Lamb, Janet Deane, sisters-in-law, Geneva Collier and husband Junior, Shirley Collier, Alma Crawford, brothers-in-law, Bucky Durrer, grandchildren, David Waldon, Ashley Collier, Andre Tench, Kristina Tench, Devin Deane, Brice Deane, Skylar Deane, Ashley McCormick, Carrie McCormick, great-grandchildren, Alaina Collier, Bricen Linkswiler, MaKenzy Linkswiler and Yulian McCormick.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday November30, 2022 at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville with interment to follow in Knights Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
