Ronnie Keith Livingston October 28, 2024
Ronnie Keith Livingston, of Ruckersville, VA, went to his home in heaven on October 28, 2024, while surrounded by his loving friends and family. He was born on March 19, 1939, and grew up on the family farm near Louisville, Mississippi. At an early age he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined the Evergreen Baptist Church.
At the age of 14 he worked after school and on Saturday for W. E. Walker Stores, the local five and dime. After he convinced his parents to sign approval, he joined the Mississippi National Guard at the age of 171/2. After graduating from Louisville High School in 1957 he immediately went to basic and MOS training at Fort Jackson, SC. He attended East Central Junior College, Decatur, MS for 1 year. Then was Assistant Manager for two years with W. E. Walker Stores in Forest, MS. He then returned to East Central Jr. College where he met his life-long love, Kathy Rainer. They were devoted to each other for over 63 years. Both graduated in 1961 and were married later that year. He attended night school and received his B.S. in Finance and Accounting from Little Rock University in 1967.
In 1960 he received his Commission after graduating from Artillery OCS at Ft. Sill, OK. He continued to serve his country in the Army National Guard and Reserves until his retirement in 1988 at the rank of Lt. Colonel.
In 1963 he was employed by IBM in Little Rock, AR. He held a number of management positions before retiring after 30 years of service. At the time of his retirement, he was Manager of Internal Administration and Controls in Bethesda, MD. Keith had a strong faith and trust in God and when his IBM career moved them to various parts of the US, he and his family found and supported a place of worship. He served as a Deacon in Bergen Baptist in New Jersey and Columbia Baptist in Falls Church, Virginia.
After retirement from IBM, he worked part time for BB&T. Then in 2005 he and Kathy had the amazing opportunity to serve as host and hostess for the Colson Guest House that served Prison Fellowship Ministries, founded by Chuck Colson. In 2007, they retired to Ruckersville, VA.
He loved and cherished his family and was very proud of the accomplishments of his wife Kathy and their two sons, Lee and Steve.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph (Joe) & Kathryn Cockrell McGee and John & Alice Chandler Livingston and his parents, Noel Lee & Mamie Sue McGee Livingston, his wife Kathy Livingston, and brother Carey Livingston.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald Lee Livingston, Stephen Livingston & wife Ceceilia Gradiz de Livingston and three grandchildren, Annalise, Daniel and Emanuel. A sister-in-law, Toni Livingston, of Denton, TX. Also, two nephews Randy and wife Alicia Livingston of Plymouth, MN, Jon Livingston of Duluth, MN, niece Colleen Sutterfield from Bromfield, CO, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 6:30 pm on Saturday, November 2, 2024 ,at Spring Hill Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Spring Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Nethery officiating.
