Roger Lee Southard, 61 of Culpeper, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at UVA Culpeper Hospital. He was born on October 9, 1962, to the late John Levi Southard and Beulah Elizabeth Southard. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Matthew D. Adams.

Roger was a self-employed excavator and loved hunting, fishing, and coin collecting.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia Jewell Southard; and one son, Dillon Lee Southard and wife Seana of Earlysville, Va.; brothers, Levi Southard and wife Winona of Rixeyville, Va., Charlie Southard and wife Jackie of Arlington, Va., Jimmy Southard and wife Cindy of Rixeyville, Va; sisters, Mary Bailey and special friend, Earl of Lynchburg, Va., Shirley Holt and husband Danny of Lynchburg, Va. , Betty Wright and husband Eddie of Rixeyville, Va, Hazel Cubbage and husband Terry of Culpeper; one granddaughter, Rowan Kennedy Southard.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with Pastor Chaz Campbell officiating. Interment will be at a later time.
