Richard Bruce Wright, Jr. of Gordonsville, VA was born on April 8, 1930, and went home to be with his Savior on May 1, 2023. Bruce was the son of Richard and Ora Wright. During his full life, he was blessed with three children. His oldest children, Richard Bruce Wright,III and Linda Jean Wright, both preceded him in death, and he is survived by his stepdaughter Stephanie Lovett. Bruce is also survived by his former wife, Vail Little Wright; grandchildren F. Mark Wright, Daniel Wright, Joseph Wright, Natalie Wright Yancey and Jimmy Lovett; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Bruce very much valued the relationships built over the years with his family, faith family and fellow Masons. Bruce studied the Bible and spent much of his life sharing his faith with others as a lay reader and Bible study leader. Bruce also enjoyed restoring farmhouses with meticulous attention to detail. During his career, Bruce also worked for the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey. But, he was most proud of his time as a pilot.

Bruce lived 93-years and would recount fond memories of a life well-lived. The Memorial Service to celebrate Bruce’s life will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, May 23rd at Christ Epsicopal Church, 310 N High St, Gordonsville, VA 22942.
