Richard Alton North, Sr., 80 of Brightwood, Virginia passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Culpeper Hospital. He was born on August 12, 1944 to the late Harold North and Hilma North. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Orma Bradley North and brother, Harold “Sonny” North.

He is survived by his daughters, Stacy Marie Helmic and husband James of Brightwood and Lori Morrison and husband Bob of Tx; son Richard Alton North, Jr. and wife Maureen of Brightwood; grandchildren, Joshua Morrison, Shawn Morrison, Christopher Hammersley, Jessica Woods, Cheroke Helmic, J. T. Helmic, Jennifer Rickey; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Fellowship Baptist Church, Gate Road, Madison, Va. with Pastor Dale Freeman officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison, Va. Interment will be private.
