Recil William Shifflett, 81 of Stanardsville, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022 at his home. He was born on October 12, 1940 to the late Jemes “Ousby” Shifflett and Gladys Geer Shifflett. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Cecil Shifflett.

He was a carpenter and worked for Earl Shifflett Construction for 31 years. Recil loved rabbit hunting and loved others unconditionally.  If you came to visit, he would always want you to have a meal with him. His family was his heart, and his love for his grandchildren was great.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Christine Morris Shifflett; daughters, Sheba Perkins (Larry) and Tammy Williams (Elwood); son, Kevin Shifflett (Amy); brother Melvin Shifflett and Norman Shifflett; sisters, Peachey Shifflett, Lois Shifflett, Barbara Breeden; grandchildren, Brandi Sullivan, Kody Perkins, Felicia Zirk, Hunter and Allie Shifflett; and seven great-grandchildren, Gatelyn, Raenah, Jackson, Knoxx, Laney, Nash, and Wyatt.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at First Bible Baptist Church at Stanardsville with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Philip Powell and Glenn Shifflett will officiate.
