Randy A. Knight                      March 18,  2023

Randy Knight, 75, of Culpeper, Virginia, went Home to be with his beloved Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 18, 2023. Randy was born on February 25, 1948, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to Prentice and Ruby Knight.

But if you could ask Randy, he would have told you that his life really began at the age of 21, when he met Jesus. From that time on, it became an adventure, from teaching Sunday School to high school students, becoming part of the “Son House” fellowship in his twenties, and growing in the knowledge and love of the Lord he sought to serve.

On August 16, 1986, he married Judy and they chose Philippians 1:6 as their special verse for their married life: “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Although Randy and Judy were never able to have children of their own, they both loved working with children, and were “Uncle Randy and Aunt Judy” or “Uncle Randy and Mama Judy” to more than a few teens, younger kids, and their own nieces and nephews.

Randy worked for over 49 years in location and design (hydraulic section) for VDOT in Culpeper.

Randy is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his loving sister Katherine, and his nephews Chuck, Ken (Mary), and his niece Donna, and their families; his sisters-in-law Jo (Ralph) Wright and Jan (Gil) Siler, and their families. He also leaves behind special friends Rodney and Kathy Marshall and their adult children, Chance and Faith, as well as a host of other friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, his beloved Aunt Jesse, and his brother-in-law Charles Johnson, Jr.

The family would also like to thank all those who assisted with Randy’s care in the final year of his life—professional caregivers, hospice nurses and aides, and friends and family.

Please join us in celebrating Randy’s life on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., Providence Bible Church, 17211 Greens Corner Road, Culpeper 22701, with Randy’s lifelong friend, Pastor Sandy Young of Blacksburg, VA officiating.
