Paul Ronald Hawes, Sr., age 88, of Millsboro, Delaware, passed away on February 23, 2024 at his home.

Born on October 8, 1935, in Woodburn, Virginia, he was the son of the late John Hawes and Susan Ford Hawes. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Lou Harvey Hawes, and also by his second wife, Renee Seese Hawes.

Paul proudly served in the United States Army and was an electrical inspector for Charles County in Maryland.

He is survived by his two sons, Paul R. Hawes, Jr. and his fiancée Lynn, and Jimmy Hawes and his wife Diane; a daughter, Janet Hawes Barlow and her husband Danny; grandchildren, Michael Hawes, Mark Hawes, and Crystal Donovan and her husband Chris; great grandchildren, Cambree Hawes, Shaylee Sanborn, Harper Hawes, Harvey Hawes, Caden Donovan, and Carsten Donovan; and special friends and family, Peggy Davey Hawes, and Mindee Kendell.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Blue Ridge Shores Baptist Church, 1230 Firehouse Drive, Louisa, VA, with Pastor Dr. Steven M. Whetzel officiating. The family will greet friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Memorial Park Cemetery, 111 Bridge Road, Mineral, VA.
