Novella Bralley Riggins, age 84, of Louisa, Virginia, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, surrounded by her family. 

Born on April 13, 1940, she was the daughter of the late David Elmer Bralley, Sr, and Roberta Fields Bralley. In addition to her parents, Novella was preceded in death by her late husband Jerry Spencer Riggins, her son, J. Micheal Riggins, and her daughter, Jeannie R. Wilburn.

Novella worked many years for Louisa County Public Schools starting out as an instructional assistant for the Zelda Carter Morton School, Louisa Elementary, and retired as a secretary at Trevilians Elementary school in 2005. She loved spending time with her family and friends, was a faithful wife, loving mother, and a true woman of God.

Novella is survived by her daughters, Sherry R. Fleshman (Steve), Lynn R. Baggett (Farrow). In addition, she was survived by her grandchildren Dustin Riggins (Angie Wilfang), Hannah Bane (Montey Gross), Lindsey Bane, Amber Payne (Jacob), LeAnna Butler (Derek), and great grandchildren Laylah Gross, Kyng Waddy and Hunter Payne.

 Her family will receive friends at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville, Virginia. Her funeral service will follow at 12 p.m.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Novella’s name to Berea Baptist Church in Louisa, Virginia.
