Cecil H. McClary, Sr. 85 of Gordonsville passed away peacefully at his home on July 20, 2022. Born April 21, 1937, he was the son of the late John and Pearl McClary. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Lorraine and son Hank McClary.

He is survived by his daughter, Tracey Riner, two sons, Rodney and JH McClary, sister, Linda Johnson, brother, Bobby McClary and sister-in-law Shirley. Five grandchildren, Whitney, Hope and Jared McClary, Adam and McKenzie Riner, six great-grandchildren, Hannah, Payton, Kameron, Haley, Brycen and Skylar along with a host of nieces and nephews.

He served in the U.S. Navy and he was a heavy equipment machinist. For most of his career, he was a crane operator working for Fluor Daniels at North Anna Power Plant in Louisa County and Merck & Company in Elkton, VA. He was an avid fan of Virginia Cavaliers and Nascar.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday July 29, 2022 at Maplewood Cemetery in Gordonsville.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Lisa Miller (niece) and Sherry Cooper who were his caretakers for the past five years with whom he could not have done without.
