Marvis Gray Overstreet, 90, of Troy, VA and formerly of Roanoke,VA. died on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at the Dogwood Village of Orange, surrounded by his family.

Marvis is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Faye; a daughter Belinda Overstreet of Troy; a son Larry and wife Joyce of Roanoke, Va.; a sister-in-law Geraldine Overstreet of Clover, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marvis and Faye raised their family in Roanoke, VA and Marvis retired from A E P following 38 years of service. They then traveled the country, settling in Myrtle Beach, SC for many years. While there they enjoyed the beach, gardening, music, making friends and being active in their church.

Marvis was kind, happy and well loved; he will be greatly missed by family and friends. Many thanks to all his caregivers who cared for him lovingly.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 1:30 P.M. at the Preddy Funeral Chapel, Orange. Rev. Rick Clore will officiate. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 6:00 P.M. at Dogwood Village in Orange, Va.
