Laverne “Lucy” Gertrude Swink-McDaniel           February 2, 2025

Laverne Swink-McDaniel, age 69, went to be with her Heavenly Father in the early hours of the morning February 2, 2025 in Gordonsville, Va.

Lucy was born to Paul Swink and Merle Lacy Berrien on April 30, 1955. She had a strong passion for faith and family. Her hobbies were painting, cleaning, gardening, playing cards, and crocheting. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and was always talking about Jesus. She was a beautiful light to everyone around her and loved her children and grandchildren more than anything. “MawMaw’s” door was always open, and her house was always full of love. She had the biggest heart, and she did everything she could to support, inspire, and help her family. Lucy has left an inspiring legacy to her friends and family.

The Celebration of Life for Laverne Swink-McDaniel will be held at Gordonsville Chapel, 314 N Main Street Gordonsville, VA at 11:00 am on Friday, February 7, 2025. The family will be there at 10:00 am to receive friends. The service will be officiated by Pastor Terry Jewell and her grandson, Justus McDaniel, and directed by Preddy Funeral Home.
