Katherine Davis Carey, 84 of Barboursville, died Friday July 28, 2023. Born January 7, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Chauncey Dovell Davis, Sr. and Rosa Jane Buckner Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Anthony Carey, her son, Michael Anthony Carey, Jr., two sisters, Beauford Hawkins, Elizabeth Smith, a brother, Chauncey “Pete” Davis, Jr. and her son-in-law, Jason Ferguson.

Mrs. Carey is survived by three daughters, Artelia Davis of Ruckersville, Danielle Carey-Ferguson of Gordonsville, Paulette Davis-Tyler and husband Keith of Ruckersville, four grandchildren, Jada Davis, Kornel Tyler, Dyziah Carey, Zion Ferguson and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday August 1, 2023 at Bethany Baptist Church in Ruckersville with interment to follow in the church Cemetery. Pastor Louderback will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday July 31, 2023 at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville.
