Judy Nora Mae Lemen, 72 of Boston, Va., passed away on Thursday, June 08, 2023 at her home. She was born on July 26, 1950 to the late Chris Lemen. She was also preceded in death by step-father, Franklin Herman Kidwell; sister, Sharon Victoria Lemen; and the love of her life, James Edward Dillon.
Judy’s love for God came first. Judy’s love for her family was her greatest strength. She was a dedicated mother taking care of her son Bob for the last 28 years. One of her greatest joys and her biggest accomplishment was raising Joseph and Jakob to be the fine young men they are today. Judy was a devoted grandmother to her granddaughter Amanda, always loving her and being there for her through the years. The sparkles in Judy’s eyes when she held her great granddaughter for the first time were undeniably the proudest moment yet! Judy’s love and devotion to her mother Victoria created a special bond that carried her through to her last days. Judy’s love for all her brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews always shined through. As well as her love and devotion for the Dillons who welcomed us with open arms and love that will last a lifetime. Judy’s love for yard sales was shared with the love of her life James Dillon, her home was filled with flowers, birds and any other animal she could take in. Judy’s life was not measured by what she owned but by what she gave: strength, dedication, always showing up, but most precious of all her time! Judy loved and lived between her dashes….and for that we are blessed with having her in our lives!
She is survived by her mother, Victoria Ada Kidwell; daughter, Linda Lea Staats of Boston, adopted daughters, Mary, Tori, and Virgie; sons, Robert Earl Staats of Boston, Joseph Chris Staats and wife Debbie of Haymarket, Joseph Chris Staats, II and wife Alyssa of Winchester, and Jakob Edward Staats of Winchester; Granddaughter, Amanda Grace Torreyson and great-granddaughter, Serenity Grace Torreyson; adopted great-grandchildren, Joey, DeAnthony, Alyssa, Annikah, Zoey, Olivia, Lilly, and Ava; great-nephew, who she carried close to her heart, Erikin Brown (MoMo); Siblings: Cheryl, Ernest (spouse Denise), Oscar, Johnny (spouse Gaye) Victoria (spouse James) Franklin,Rhonda ( spouse Butch) Rose (spouse Mark), George (spouse Annette) , Mark, Rocky, Caroline ( spouse Dale).
