John Carter Gentry, Jr., 73 of Charlottesville, Va., passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Autumn Care in Madison, Va. He was born on September 17, 1950.

He is survived by his daughter, Janae Gentry; son, John Gentry, III; his life-time soul mate, Patsy Bolden; brother, Larry Gentry; sisters, Margaret Gentry, Shirley Gentry, Sara Gentry, and Helen Lewis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison, Va with interment in Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlotteville, Va. Pastor Frank D. Lewis will officiate. A visitation will be one hour before the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
