Jeanne J. Davis departed this life on May 14, 2023. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Joseph B. Jones, Sr., and Margaret C. Jones; her first husband, Paul A. Losely; and her second husband, Robert M. David. Jeanne is survived by: one brother Joseph B. Jones, Jr. of Florida; two daughters, Pamela Losely of Culpeper, and Margaret (Meg) and husband Tony Rogers of Louisa; five stepchildren, Terry Newberry, Michael Davis (Kelly), Melinda Hill (David), Donald Davis (Kaye), Deborah Eakins (Roy); one granddaughter, Pepper Losely; and two great-grandchildren.

 

Jeanne Davis (nee Jones) was born on February 15, 1935. She graduated from Culpeper High School, had an extensive career with, and retired from the phone company in all its stages from C&P Telephone, to Bell Atlantic and finally Verizon. She earned her real estate license and worked part-time with J&J Real Estate in Culpeper. Jeanne was a lifelong equestrian who fox hunted with the Rappahannock Hunt in her early years, traveled countless miles with the Ridge Riders, raised and showed Appaloosa and Quarter Horses, and was secretary for the Blue Ridge Reining Association. Jeanne was an active member of Trinity Methodist Church, Orange, VA, and participated in their Sally Brown women’s group.

 

The family would like to thank the wonderful team at Dogwood Senior Living who spent more than a decade caring for Jeanne and treating her as a member of their own family; we could not have asked for a more compassionate group of individuals. Preddy’s Funeral Home in Orange is managing funeral arrangements. Family night is Thursday, May 18 from 5-7 p.m. The funeral service is Friday, May 19 at 10 a.m. with burial at Forest Lawn in Richmond at 3 p.m.
