Janet Marie Ryan, 89 of Free Union, Va. passed away on September 4, 2024 at her home. She was born on July 22, 1935 to the late Charles Markle and Jean Pogorzelska Markle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Martin Ryan; son, John Charles Ryan; and sister, Dorothy Markle.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan L. Drillock (David), Anita M. Ryan, Laurie Jeanne Pietropollo (Anthony), Nicole A. Morin (Daniel); son, Kenneth Michael Ryan (Bobbi); grandchildren, Justin Ryan (Melanie), Melanie Owens (Sean), Trevor Ryan, Michael Pietropollo (Erin), Alex Pietropollo (Kerri), Christopher Pietropollo (Hailey), Brooks C. Morin (Maddi), Samaya G. Morin.

A funeral mass will be held at 12:15 on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at the Church of Incarnation, 1465 Incarnation Drive, Charlottesville, Va. 22901. A viewing will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday at the church.
