Jane Allman Hale           April 29, 2023

Jane Allman Hale 80 of Richmond, formerly of Orange, passed away Saturday April 29, 2023 in Richmond. She was born February 1, 1943 in Charlottesville and was the daughter of the late Thomas Neill Hale and Helen Allman Downer Hale.

Jane graduated from Orange County High School and Mary Washington College. She retired after more than 40 years working for William Byrd Press of Richmond.  Jane loved spending time with family and friends; adored music, especially live music; and UVA basketball. Her grace and great sense of humor, even during her difficult health challenges, were a great source of inspiration to her family and friends.

Jane is survived by her aunt, Phyllis Downer Coiner of Gordonsville, cousins, Lindy Coiner and wife Melinda of Midlothian, Bobby Coiner and wife Jackie, Anne Coiner Jones all of Gordonsville, Bill Downer and wife Stephanie of Chantilly, Bob Downer of Richmond, Elaine Downer Hamilton and husband Mitch, and Karen Downer Kasprzak and husband Jack, all of Glen Allen.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Preddy Funeral Home of Gordonsville with a family visitation one hour before the service, also at the funeral home.
