James Richard Clarkson, 69 of Charlottesville, Va. passed away on December 31, 2024. He was born on March 29, 1955 to the late Wilbur Lee Clarkson and Peggy Ethel Clarkson. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Jane Clarkson.
James Clarkson had vibrant blue eyes with a memorable laugh that echoed through the countryside. Friends and family appreciated his obnoxious sense of humor and playful smile. James had an impeccable green thumb with an amazing talent for gardening. He would distribute the fruits of his labor to his loved ones. He had a love for the country life and outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding the 4-wheeler. James exercised his skills of plumbing and helped a lot of people. He had many friends, and they hold multiple years of stories and memories. James Clarkson will be remembered and remain in our hearts.
He is survived by his daughter, Megan Clarkson; sister, Deborah Clarkson; nieces, Angela and Jennifer Fitzgerald, Lauren and Tiffany Wells; great nieces, Kaitlyn and Delaney Crawford, Makayla Wells and Trinity Seaberry; and great nephew, Dylan Wells.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison, Va. with Bob Slaven officiating. Interment will be in Jonesboro Cemetery in Roseland, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
The family wishes to thank Legacy Hospice and Lisa Lacey for making his last days comfortable.
