James Edward Bryant                                May 26, 2024

James, known to friends and relatives as “Jimmy” “JB” and “Tut J,” was born in Charlottesville, VA, to the late Thomas E. Bryant, Jr. and Mary Ella Fitch Bryant. He passed away on May 26th, 2024 at 6:21 A.M. at the Center of Acute Hospice Care (CAHC), Charlottesville, VA, surrounded by his children, grandchild, siblings, and close friends. He was baptized at an early age and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Keswick, VA.

James was a proud resident of Keswick, VA, where he was raised, and was a 1988 graduate of Albemarle High School. He had a passion for playing sports and riding motorcycles in early childhood through adulthood. James had an infectious smile, and had the ability to make anyone he would encounter smile. He had a strong sense of service, and often went out of his way to help others no matter how big or small the task. James maintained several jobs throughout his life, with the most recent performing pharmaceutical delivery of nuclear medicine at Cardinal Health in Charlottesville, VA, for over 10 years and working in a plastics manufacturing plant at Klockner Pentaplast in Gordonsville, VA. James also owned a landscaping business for many years and served many throughout the city of Charlottesville, Albemarle, and surrounding counties.

James was a loving father to his three daughters and a wonderful grandfather to his grandson. They share many memories of family trips to amusement parks, beaches, road-trips, and many outings to restaurants, comedy shows, riding dirt bikes and ATV’s, and other adventures throughout his life. He was always very active in their lives, and they have many memories to cherish forever. James had many close friends that have shared a lifetime of memories. They describe him as an amazing and wonderful man that will truly be missed.

He leaves to cherish memories, his daughters, Tanashia N. "Nay" Scott, Courtney A. “Zo” Bryant, and Whitney R. "Whit" Bryant; and a grandson, Kamryn R. “Kam” Robinson. In addition to his children and grandchild, James is survived by two sisters, Susan E. Bryant and Dorothy A. Turner-Jackson; a brother, Thomas E. Bryant III; three aunts, Priscilla F. Fitch, Betty Fitch, and Deborah J. Fitch; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. James was an amazing man that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished by those who had the true joy of knowing him.

At James’ request, his Homegoing Service and burial will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church at 471 Black Cat Road in Keswick, VA. Family, friends, and others are invited to the ceremony on June 15th, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. to reminisce and honor the life of James. Viewing and visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M.
