Hubert Lee Weakley born May 2, 1936 in Madison passed away peacefully at his home in Griffin, Georgia on September 13, 2022 at the age of 86. His son, Milton, and daughter-in-law, Shirley, lovingly cared for him during a long illness.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Smith Weakley, his parents, Kelly Weakley and Georgia Seymour Weakley, and his brothers, Joe and Floyd Weakley.

In addition to Milton and Shirley, Hubert is survived by his stepdaughter, Martha Prather and her husband, Mike, brothers, Lawrence & Roger, sisters, Louise Wheeler, Ellen Pritt, Grace Kelliher and Carol Ford.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Hubert loved his country and the freedom it affords. While stationed in Germany he was astounded that people living in East Germany would be shot trying to cross into West Germany.

We miss Hubert’s infectious laugh and boisterous personality.

Hubert’s family would like to invite his friends to a celebration of his life on November 12^th at noon at the Brightwood Ruritan Club, where, as a young boy, he attended school.
