Hattie Mae Shifflett Brill               November 16, 2024

Hattie Mae Shifflett Brill 84 of Stanardsville passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024 in Charlottesville. Hattie was such a beautiful and sweet soul that loved her family fiercely. She was always thinking of others and not herself. Hattie was the most generous person and cared for her family so well. She has taught us those same qualities that she portrayed daily.  Hattie and her mama will always be known for making sure everyone was well fed. Those Sunday meals hold so many memories for so many people. Hattie was such a hard worker at home and outside the home. She worked at the Orange Silke Mill for 7 years, Frank IX & Sons for 35 years and Virginia Linen for 17 years.   Hattie loved attending church when she was able.

Hattie was born on December 11, 1939 in Greene County to the late Davis Shifflett and Mary Lawson Shifflett Beasley and wife of the late Michael Wallace Brill. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Sparks; a granddaughter, Amy Sparks and four brothers, Randolph Shifflett, Luther Shifflett, James Shifflett and Kenny Shifflett.

She is survived by two sons, Dwight Brill and wife, Angie and Jeff Brill and wife, Shay; one sister, Joyce Wheeler and husband, Johnny; three brothers, Harmon Shifflett and wife, Lucy; Howard Shifflett and wife, Frances; Leon Beasley and wife, Carla; two grandchildren Katie Speake and husband, Thomas and Kelly Womack and husband, Jake; loved as grandchildren, Duane and Derrick Wheeler, Nicole Anderson, Caleb Beasley, Chris McCann, Shannon Jobes and Skyler Davis; eight great-grandchildren, Luka and Evalyn Speake; Noah, Cohen, Mayanne, Sophia, Benjamin and Jeremiah Womack; loved as great-grandchildren, Jonathan Wheeler, Gabi Mulder; Wesson, Wyatt, Maverick and Mason Beasley; one niece and special caregiver, Wanda Pritchett; and many nieces and nephews. There were just so many that were dear to Hattie’s heart.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at First Mission Pentecostal Holliness Church conducted by Pastor Frank Chapman with interment in Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to First Mission Pentecostal Holliness Church.
