Gladys H. Woodward, 82 of Winchester, formally of Etlan, Va., went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Winchester Medical Center. She was born on June 6, 1939 in Charlottesville, Va. to the late Vander Adam Dyer and Josie Rilla Broyles Dyer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clemon Wesley Woodward; four sons, Keith Hurt, Jerry Hurt, Greg Hurt and Dennis Woodward; brothers, Elmer Elwood Dyer, Claude Dyer, Hugh Dyer; and sisters, Irene Marie Hurt and Sherrie Deane.

Gladys loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed being with her family and will be remembered as a strong loving woman with a smile for everyone.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Weaver of Madison and Kathy Carpenter and husband Jerry of Oak Park, Va., one son, Kent Woodward and wife Sue of Gore, Va., four daughters-in-law, Judy Hurt, Tanya Hurt, Marlene Hurt, and Betty Woodward; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Also, a special niece, Charlotte Pittman and husband Walter Pittman.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison with interment in Etlan Cemetery. Rev. Dan Yowell and Kent Woodward will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
