Elise Moomaw Sparks, 92, died peacefully in her sleep on September 2, 2021 at Lakewood Manor, Richmond, VA. She was born on August 31, 1929 in Roanoke, VA, the daughter of the late David William Moomaw and Elise (Bowman) Moomaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Sparks IV. She is survived by her daughters Ruth Journell and husband, Robert of Rocky Mount, VA, Mary Bob Sparks Taylor of Chesterfield, VA and Caroline Kinter and husband, Mike of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren Carrie and Shawn Reamer of Powhatan, VA, Bob and Danielle Taylor of Yuma, AZ, Drs. Lauren Kinter and A. J. Manship of Las Vegas, NV, and Courtney Kinter of Baltimore, MD; and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a sister, Irwin Sherman of Orange, VA; and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the wonderful care she received while living at Lakewood Manor. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Elise’s memory to Lakewood Manor, 1900 Lauderdale Drive, Richmond, VA. 23238.
