Edward O'Neil Breeden        April 28, 2023

Edward O’Neil Breeden was born October 16, 1960 to Edward J. Breeden and Jean P Breeden. The fifth of six children Edward went by many nicknames throughout his life but the most important ones were Eddie, Dad, and Poppy.

During his lifetime Eddie was an avid sports fan whether he was playing himself or watching his kids, nieces, and nephews play. He enjoyed spending time at beaches, mowing grass, and being anywhere his family gathered. Eddie was a man full of life, laughter, love, and a wicked sense of humor.

Eddie’s many careers spanned running his own small business in the form of Breeden’s Texaco and Pool Hall, working for the federal government at FSTC/NGIC, a government contractor at DIA, and finally as a custodial engineer for the Greene County School System.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Edward J. Breeden and survived by his mother, Jean P. Breeden. He is also survived by his sisters Deborah Morris (Dale), Charlotte Knight (Lyman), and Janet Lamb. His brothers Gregory/Tom Dooley (Cindy), and Kenny (Melody). His children Joshua (CJ), Jacqueline, Jordan (Justin), Jeremy (Kara), and Hannah along with his five beautiful grandchildren; Mattox, Henry, Myles, HattieBelle, and Maverick as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Please join the Breeden Family in celebrating the life of Edward O. Breeden at Preddy’s Funeral Home in Madison, Virginia at 1pm on Tuesday May 2nd, 2023.

The family would like to thank the care teams at University of Virginia Hospital and Hospice of the Piedmont for their excellent care over the last few months and days of his cancer battle. In lieu of flowers the family recommends donating to the Greene County Animal Shelter of Virginia or Hospice of the Piedmont in memory of Edward O. Breeden
