Douglas R. Chisholm              March 30, 2024

Douglas R. Chisholm, of Gordonsville, passed away on March 30, 2024, at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty; his daughter, Leslie (Matt); sister, Brenda Dunn (Danny); brother, Bucky Chisholm (Lisa); brother, Todd Chisholm (Jodean); and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernie and Iris Chisholm.

 

Doug was born on October 8, 1948, and attended Louisa Country High School. He served his country in the Army, August 1968 through January 1972 during the Vietnam Era. He ended his term with an honorable discharge and several distinguished medals and citations. In June of 2023, he was awarded with a “Quilt of Valor” for his services. 

 

Doug enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends, listening to the hounds run, watching the sunrise at Bowlers Mill Lake as he was fishing, listening to Bluegrass music as he was “making his rounds.” He also enjoyed his CB Radio, where his friends knew him as “Outlaw.”

 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13,2024 at 11:00 AM at Preddy’s Funeral Home in Gordonsville.
