Dorothy Lamb Morris, 70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 with family at her side. She was born August 13, 1951 to the late James Willis Lamb and his surviving wife, Lula Jones Lamb of Stanardsville. 


Dorothy was born in Charlottesville and attended William Monroe High School in 

Stanardsville. She was a church member at United Christian Academy. She retired from her job at University of Virginia Hospital, where she used to treat her many coworker friends to excellent home-cooked food. Bluegrass music was her passion and she attended as many bluegrass festivals as she could. She was a special fan of bluegrass musician, Ralph Stanley, III.


In addition to her mother, Dorothy is survived by her two children, Christina Morris of Stanardsville, and Bo (Bobo) Morris with his husband, Joe Henley, of Crozet, four grandchildren, Brittany Shifflett, Bryan (Nicky) Shifflett, Caleb Wayne Shifflett, and Dylan Shifflett, and a great-granddaughter, Paisley Mae McDaniel. 


Dorothy is also survived by three 

brothers, Elmer Lamb with his wife Judy, Paul Wayne Lamb with his wife Susan, and John Lamb, and two sisters, Wanda Turner with her husband, James, and Ann Powell with her husband, Ank. 


Dorothy leaves behind many nieces and nephews and special friends, including Lori Baker, Beverly Carpenter, and Betty Powell.


A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held at a date soon to be announced.
