Daniel Watkins Volhein             October 5, 2022

Daniel Watkins Volhein, 57, passed peacefully on October 5, 2022, in his home in Gordonsville, VA, after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Allman Foreman, sister Anne (Reid) Nicholson, stepbrother Casey Foreman, niece Lindsay (Pablo) Gonzalez and nephew Andrew Nicholson. Other survivors are uncles, Hunter Allman, Sr. and Herman Volhein, cousins George (Susan) Allman III, Hunter (Marietta) Allman, Jr., Jennifer (Chris) Carter, Charlie Allman, Sarah (Hank) Rich and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his father, David Volhein Sr., brother, David Volhein Jr., stepfather, Dale Foreman, grandparents, George and Virginia Allman, uncle George Allman, II, grandparents Stanley and Elise Volhein, and Uncle Donald Volhein.

Daniel was fun loving and generous. Daniel was a plumber by trade but had the keen ability to “MacGyver” anything and often did. He enjoyed the simple pleasures, especially storms, grass cutting, fishing, soft crabbing, hunting, gunmanship, gold carting the farm and quality time with friends and family.

A Celebration of life will be held 11/5/22 and a private graveside service following.

Preddy Funeral Home of Gordonsville is assisting the family.
