Dana Bell of New Canton, VA, passed away on December 4, 2023 at the UVA Hospital in Charlottesville. Dana was born in Princeton, WV, on March 29, 1955 to Garland and Freda Bell. His father and sister, Mary Frances Bell preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Bell; mother, Freda Bell; sister, Vicky Newberry; daughter, Sara Louden and son-in-law Michael; grandchildren, Hanani, Thea, Lydia, Samuel, Jesse and Levi Louden; daughter, Margaret Bell, and grandson, Cooper Bell; stepson, Ralph Anderson; and stepdaughter, Patricia Woodfin. 

Dana was a United States Navy veteran, carpenter, and furniture maker. He worked at Fork Union Military Academy for 28 years after leaving Sperry Marine. Most recently he worked at Walmart at Zions Crossroads. He will be greatly missed, and remembered for his love, support and kindness to so many.

 A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 16,2023 at Salem United Methodist Church in Palmyra, VA, with Reverend Gary Olsteen presiding.
