Daisy Mae Dyer, 90 of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Culpeper Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 12, 1932 in Madison in the Shenandoah National Park. She was the daughter of the late Roy Deane Woodward and Nellie Breeden Woodward. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Pearl Virginia Woodward, Katherine Woodward, Nellie Virginia Woodward, and Joyce Gay Gaar; two brothers, Carroll Jackson “Rooster” Woodward and Jerry Woodward. She was also preceded in death by her first child, a daughter, Janet Lee Clatterbuck Knighting.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Clatterbuck Grayson and husband Steve of Madison; a son, Rodney R. Clatterbuck and wife Tammy of Syria; a brother, Harold R. Woodward of Rochelle; two sisters, Greta Dodson of Madison and Stella Davis of Pratts; five grandchildren, Katina Sholes and husband David of Madison, Erin Grayson of Brightwood, Cynthia Page and husband Josh of Rochelle, Liza Clatterbuck and Victoria Clatterbuck, both of Syria, Va.; five-great-grandchildren, Austin Sholes of Madison, Cameron Myers and Holden Suites, both of Brightwood, Luke Snellings and Ruth Page, both of Rochelle, and special friend, Jesse Morgan.
Daisy loved her family more than anything. She loved gardening, working in her flower beds, and she loved to dance.
The family would like to thank the staff at Dogwood Village of Orange County, especially South Ground for their compassionate and loving care of Daisy while being a resident there.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September, 10, 2022 at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison with interment in Madison Memorial Gardens. Pastor Josh Shifflett will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
