Cora Lee Burkey                 July 16, 2023

Cora Lee Burkey passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023. She is survived by her daughter, Veda Grace. Originally from Beaver County, PA, Cora grew up in the Charlottesville area and was a 2019 graduate of Albemarle High School.  

Cora was most proud of her daughter Veda. She spent a great deal of time in the Gordonsville, VA home of her grandparents, Grace and Donald Humphrey and her uncle, Shawn Humphrey, who were devoted to her, throughout her life. She loved spending time outside and taking care of her animals. 

Cora is also survived by her mother, April (Doug) Canter, father, Larry (Melissa) Burkey, siblings, Kira, Kevin, and Sierra Canter, Zach Burkey, maternal grandparents Donald and Grace Humphrey, paternal grandmother, Sharla Burkey, aunts, Holly Huff, April Burkey Elahi, uncles, John Huff, Shawn Humphrey, other aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Family will receive friends and family at 2 pm on July 25, 2023 at followed by a Celebration of Life at 3 PM at Preddy Funeral Home, 301 S Main St, Gordonsville, VA 22942.
