Chester Louis Leathers, Jr., 85 of Brightwood passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, at his home. He was born January 31, 1939, to the late Chester Louis Leathers, Sr., and Jessie Smith Leathers and husband of the late Nellie Frances Smith Leathers, He was also preceded in death by his son, Tony Wayne Leathers, one brother, Leroy Odie Leathers, one sister, Roberta Clift and one grandchild, Casey Amos.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Leathers Amos and husband, Tracy; four sisters, Anna Waugh of Culpeper; Virginia Dodson of Madison; Gloria Knighting of Banco; and Betty Edwards and husband, Jesse of Culpeper; four grandchildren, Jessica Leathers Funk and husband, Kenny of Culpeper; Jarett Leathers and wife, Rachelle of Culpeper; Rebel Thomas of Steven City; and Corey Amos of Centerville; and seven great-grandchildren, Hayden Funk, Samantha Funk, Reed Funk, Jordan Morris, Nicholas Strickland, Alexa Strickland and Addyson Strickland and a long time devoted caring companion, Nona Elston.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison conducted by Pastor Josh Shifflett. Interment will be in Fairview Christian Church Cemetery in Hood, VA. The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Wednesday from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
