Cecil Ray Lam, 52, of Barboursville, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022. He was born on August 22, 1969, in Charlottesville, VA.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William Floyd Lam Sr. and Clara Mae Beasley Lam; brothers, Roger Lee Lam and William Floyd Lam Jr.; sisters, Bonnie “Sue” Johnson, Janet Rebecca Shelton, Audrey Faye Lettner; and sons, Brandon Ray Lam and Cecil Floyd “CJ” Lam.
Cecil is survived by his fiancée, Ellen C. Murphy; his son, Joshua Wayne Lam and grandson, Camden Wyatt Lam; his son, Daniel Earl “Bubba” Lam, and Lewis Douglas Ray “Doo-Little” Lam; his daughter, Kayla Renea Lam, her fiancé Trevor Fletcher, and their children, Brayden DeVoe Fletcher & Madison Marie Fletcher; his daughter, Brandi Mae Lam; his sister, Gladys “Marie” McAllister and her husband, Ernest “Sonny” McAllister; his sister, Barbara Ann Vanover; along with an abundance of nieces and nephews; his best friend, James “Jimmy” North; and cousin, Carol Beasley.
Cecil was an active member in his community and knew no stranger. He was well known and liked by everyone who met him. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, along with working on his land and taking care of his garden and animals. Cecil loved spending time with his family. He took pride in putting together cookouts and playing music. He enjoyed different outings with his friends, such as playing music at the Stanardsville Fire Department and going camping with Jimmy and family. Cecil was a talented worker and there wasn’t a trade he couldn’t pick up on; he was always willing to help in any way he knew how.
Cecil will be greatly missed by his friends and loved ones. There will be a memorial service held at a future date, and the information regarding the service will be posted on FaceBook under “Memorial for Cecil Lam” when the time comes.
