She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, George Colvin of Brightwood, Va.; son, Jeff Colvin and wife Tina; and two grandchildren, Tyler Colvin and Bailey Colvin and fiance’ Erich of Brightwood; sisters, Eva Peck of Roanoke, who Catherine called every day, Thelma Rankins of Fredericksburg, Mary Frances Salgado of Bristow; and brother, Roy Whitlock of Elkwood.

Catherine was a devoted Christian who loved to read her Bible every morning. She attended Wolftown Pentecostal Church. In her early years, she worked at the Culpeper Telephone Company for 14 years as an operator and later she worked at K-Mart as a cashier/pharmacy tech for 14 l/2 years. Catherine would volunteer at Mana of Culpeper serving food and loved giving to others. She always enjoyed going to Frost Diner (Gayhearts) for breakfast and a hot cup of coffee, where she always wanted to leave a good tip for her favorite waitresses. Catherine enjoyed sitting outside in her reclining chair listening to/feeding the birds.

Catherine leaves behind some trusted friends, Peggy Nash of Monticello Lake and Peggy Carpenter of Brightwood.

Interment will be held privately.
