Bennie Frank Deane, Sr., 100, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at his home with his loving daughter, Janice Powell at his side. He was born on August 10, 1922 to the late Lester Deane and Frances Taylor Deane. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wilma May Deane; son, Bennie Frank Deane, Jr.; daughters, Lois Carol Deane; and Darthy Ann Gardner; brothers, John Rich Deane, Tommy Deane, Thurston Deane, and George Howard Deane.

He was a member of First Bible Baptist Church and retired from N.W. Martin Roofing. Bennie was the father of six and a father figure to several nephews and grandchildren. There was almost always someone in need staying in his home, sometimes whole families. He taught his family to love God, honor family, and authority. One of his accomplishments was making the cross that sits on Mt. View United Methodist Church building in Ruckersville, Va.

He is survived by his daughters, Mary Frances Powell and husband Malcolm; Janice Lorraine Powell and husband Roger; son, Larry Elliott Deane; and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Deane.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 24, 2022 at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison with Pastor Josh Shifflett officiating.  Interment will be in Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville, Va. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made Swift Run Baptist Church, 4306 Amicus Road, Ruckersville, Va. 22968.

The family wishes to thank special friend, Emily Carver, for her love and kindness. Also, thanks to Medi Home Hospice for their care to Bennie.
