Anna Mae Settle Gore, 94, of Orange, VA passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at The Village at Gordon House. She was born on May 7, 1928 in Washington, VA to the late Harry and Rosie Settle.
Mrs. Gore was first and foremost a mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She worked in her earlier years for the Aileen Sewing Factory, and in later years she drove a school bus for Culpeper Public School System. She will be remembered most of all for her love of cooking and feeding all of her family and friends; along with the many hours she spent gardening and yard work.
She is survived by her children, Steve A. Gore of Lynchburg, Janet G. Sedwick (Steve) of Orange, Carolyn G. Longmire (David) of Midlothian, Pam G. Geer (Mike) of Madison, Robbin C. Bokhari (Zar) of Hampton, and Robert Eric Crowell of Palmyra; her grandchildren, Jamie Sedwick Lamb, Jacqueline Sedwick Snow, Stevan A. Sedwick, William Gore, Ashleigh L. Hudgins, Lindsay L. Gray, Michael Geer, Jr., and Adam Geer; great grandchildren, Makayla Hayes, Austin Snow, Ryan Gore, Raylin Gore, Shiner Gore, Brady Geer, Tanner Geer, Jessa Kate Geer, and Jackson Gray; and her life-long friend, Alice Jenkins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the fathers of her children, Ennis A. Gore and Robert M. Crowell; great grandchildren, Logan D. Hayes, and Liam Hudgins; daughter-in-law, Cathy Gore; 7 brothers, and 1 sister.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Preddy Funeral Home, 250 W. Main St. Orange, VA 22960.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Graham Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Slate Mills Baptist Church, PO Box 115 Boston, VA 22713.
