Alvin Eugene Sprouse, 77 of Charlottesville died Saturday May 20, 2023 at Albemarle Health and Rehab. Born June 16, 1945 in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late Alfred E. and Dorothy Conley Sprouse. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ingalls Sprouse and a brother, Ronald L Sprouse and a sister, Gwendolyn Dale Sprouse.  Mr. Sprouse was retired from Dodson Brothers Extermination where he worked for forty years. He was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.

Alvin is survived by two sons, Howard E. Sprouse, Kevin M. Sprouse and wife Dawn, two granddaughters, Sophie and Allie Sprouse, two brothers, Clyde Franklin Sprouse, Charles E. Sprouse, a sister, Joyce M. Sprouse, special friends to the family, Becky and Willie Bowers and numerous nieces, nephews and ‘adopted’ children.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Martha Jefferson Hospital, Cornell 1 and at Albemarle Health and Rehab, especially Emily and Jason. 

A graveside service will be held Friday, June 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery, 10115 Spotswood Trail, Gordonsville, VA 22942 and a celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday June 17 at Belmont Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 830 Monticello Avenue, Charlottesville, VA 22902.
