Theodore Gregory Mickey                       May 4, 2024

Theodore Mickey, 80, of Gordonsville, VA went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Canterbury Rehabilitation Center in Short Pump, VA.

Teddy was born January 18, 1944 to the late James Williams and Mary Elizabeth Mickey. He attended George Washington Carver Regional High School in Culpeper, Virginia as part of the Orange County School System. After high school he enlisted directly into the United States Army where he served two years. After he was discharged from the service, he worked twenty six plus years at Siemens formerly Murray Manufacturing in Earlysville, Virginia. He later retired from Piedmont Metal in Louisa, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his father James Williams, mother Mary Mickey and one brother Jesse Mickey.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 56 years Gloria A Mickey; three sons Maurice G. (Angie) Mickey of Hampton, Virginia; Jerome W. (Jewel) Mickey of Kents Store, Virginia and Gary L. Mickey of Gordonsville, Virginia; Three grandchildren Jamie Taylor, Lashae Mickey and Jaylah Mickey; one great grandchild Demond McLee, Jr.; one aunt Lorraine Lucas of Gordonsville, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He devoted his life to God at an early age joining Blue Run Baptist Church, while in church he found his love for singing. He was a member of the Senior Choir at Union Baptist Church, JT Jackson Ensemble, WMC Spiritual Aires and the LN Smith Ensemble. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who wore many hats. He knew how to outdance anyone on the dance floor and roll the ball down the lanes at the bowling alley with his eyes closed. He loved football, baseball and softball and was also a dedicated coach. When his sons started playing Little League Football and Baseball, he did not hesitate on taking on the role of coach. Later in life, he spent his weekends traveling to see his grandchildren play sports as well.

Teddy was a beautiful person inside and out with an even more beautiful soul. He touched the lives of anyone that he had the pleasure to be a part of. His love and devotion for family and friends will always be remembered and carried on. Rest in Paradise Theodore Gregory Mickey. You will be greatly missed by all.
